Question 1 - What is Spyware?

Answer 1 - Spyware in general terms is computer software installed on a personal computer, more than likely installed without your consent, it can performs tasks like collecting personal information, displaying ads, or changing your computers configuration.  Spyware can cause your computer to slowdown or crash; it can collect personal information or even keystrokes.

Question 2 - What is Adware?

Answer 2 - Adware in a sense is a type of software that is downloaded to your computer to show you advertisements. These advertisements can take many forms, from the noninvasive banners within a program; to the very invasive pop-up windows that come up regardless of what you are doing at the moment and of course are annoying. You normally downloaded adware without knowing about it, since no one usually wants to see advertisements whenever they run a program.

Question 3 - What is Malware?

Answer 3 - Short for "malicious software;" includes viruses and spyware that steal personal information, send spam and commit fraud.

Question 4 - What is a Virus?

Answer 4 - Malware that sneaks onto your computer – often through an email attachment  and then makes copies of itself.

Question 5 - What is a Trojan?

Answer 5 - Programs that, when installed on your computer, enable unauthorized people to access it and sometimes to send spam from it.

Answer 6 - Home computers that have been taken over by spammers without the consent or knowledge of the computer owner. The computers are then used to send spam in a way that hides the true origin.

Answer 7 - Software that installs on your computer without your knowledge when you visit certain websites. To avoid drive-by downloads, make sure to update your operating system and Web browser regularly.
